BECOMING AN ARF DOG FOSTER

Do any of the following apply to you and your life?
• Dog lover
• Don’t have a dog, but are considering having one as a member of your family
• You have enough love and compassion to share
• Want to give back to your community, in some way
• Want to foster, but just might want to adopt
• Don’t get enough mild exercise, such as walking
• Don’t have many social interactions

Are these any of your concerns when thinking about becoming a foster?
• Don’t have any money to spare
• Already have a dog
• Have a cat (or cats) in the home
• Do not have a fenced yard
• Are heading out on a vacation soon
• Would want to foster only large dogs? Small dogs? Senior dogs? Male or female dogs?

ARF has answers to your questions and concerns!

A dog foster for ARF isn’t as big of a deal as you might think, but it IS a big deal for the homeless dog. Consider these facts:
• Fostering a dog for ARF will not cost you a penny
• ARF will provide all supplies, food, and medical costs
• You already have a dog? If it is friendly with other dogs, we will first “test” the potential relationship between your dog and the fostered dog
• If you have felines, we wouldn’t give you any dog except one who is fine with them.
• If you don’t have a yard, as long as you’re willing to take the dog (smaller size) out to potty while on a leash, it’s all good!
• If you have a planned vacation, ARF will work around it.
• Are there specific types of dogs you would or would NOT want to foster? Got it! ARF will meet your requirements.
• Don’t have more than maybe 3 weeks to foster? Then we would place a dog apt to be adopted quickly.
• Want a dog you may take hiking with you? Don’t mind a medium or large dog? Then we will accommodate your request!

Please understand that ARF may take in homeless dogs as long as it has fosters for them. Three fosters equal three dogs, and so on. No fosters? Sadly, NO DOGS.
Even if you foster only once, YOU HAVE SAVED THE LIFE OF A BEAUTIFUL COMPANION.

What if you decide you want to keep your foster? No worries! All ARF will ask of you is to reimburse up to the cost of adoption. You will get a “known” dog that is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, checked for heart worm, and microchipped. Such a deal!

If you think you have a home and heart ready to help dogs and ARF, please give us a call or email. We will be beyond grateful, as will the poor pooch!
